I. University Introduction

Northeastern University (NEU), founded in 1923, is located in Shenyang, the central city of Northeastern China, with a campus in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. NEU boasts 4512 faculty members, including 5 Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians. With a total enrollment of over 50,000 students, NEU is a key university under the Ministry of Education and a participant in China's "211 Project" and "985 Project."

NEU offers a multidisciplinary system, covering various fields such as philosophy, economics, law, science, engineering, and more. The university has a strong global presence, collaborating with 257 universities and institutions worldwide. Over 1000 international students from about 100 countries come to NEU to study every year.

II. Long-term Chinese Language Program

Our long-term Chinese language program offers enrollments twice a year, in March and September, with instruction divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Classes run from Monday to Friday, with about 20 class hours per week. In addition to compulsory courses, optional courses in Chinese traditional culture, music, film, Tai Chi, and more are available.

III. Application Qualifications

  1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health.
  2. Over 16 years old.
  3. High school graduate or above.

IV. Application Period

  • For the spring semester of 2024: Online application ends on December 31, 2023.
  • For the fall semester of 2024: Online application ends on June 30, 2024.

V. Application Process

  1. Apply on NEU website: Study in NEU or NEU Online Portal. Register using your email address and follow the instructions.

  2. Application materials include the highest diploma and academic transcript, passport copies, physical examination record, non-criminal record report, and more. Full details are available on the application portal.

VI. Fee

  1. Application Fee: 500 RMB
  2. Tuition Fee: 7500 RMB/semester; 14,000 RMB/year
  3. Accommodation Fee: 25-40 RMB/person/day
  4. Insurance Fee: 800 RMB/person/year
  5. Payment method: Bank card, bank transfer, etc.
  6. Payment date: As specified after admission.

VII. Short-term Chinese Language Program

Short-term classes (2-6 weeks) are flexible and can be arranged during winter and summer vacations. Tuition fee for short-term programs is 500 RMB/person/week.
